Maine Appalachian Trail Conference

  Dates: August 4 to 11, 2017 Location: Colby College, Waterville, Maine  Event Overview:  The Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC) holds a conference every two years at different locations in the Eastern US. This week-long event includes over 240 hikes, numerous workshops, and excursions to local areas of interest. The conference will also include ATC’s 41st membership meeting. Puzzle Mountain Hike

Our first September Next Century Hikes trip will be up Puzzle Mountain on September 2nd!  We will meet at 9:30am at the trailhead (shown on the map below) which is at the Grafton Loop parking lot.  The distance from the parking area to the summit is 3.6 miles and should take approximately 3 hours.  So, total hike will be 7.2 miles over about 6 hours.  This is a strenuous hike due to overall length and elevation gain (approximately 2,400 feet) but…

Old Blue Mountain
