StoryMap: Saddleback is the fourth presentation about the Appalachian Trail region in Maine. Saddleback Mountain was protected in 2004 and is just one of many conservation areas which, together, form a mosaic of publicly-accessibly lands in the heart of Maine’s High Peaks. The Berry Picker’s Trail, a historic route up Saddleback, is one of the best hikes in the region and exemplifies the A.T. experience in Maine.
